The Secret Enchanting World of Plankton
New videography techniques have revealed a teeming world of beauty and complexity that has previously remained hidden inside the world’s oceans. It’s a world of plankton, tiny animals, plants and bacteria – some microscopic in size, others larger like jellyfish. Together these organisms make up a fragile ecosystem that is born, lives and dies – for the most part – without being seen by human eyes.
Using new microscopic video optics The Plankton Chronicles Project, based in France, has created a video series documenting the life of Plankton, and it’s amazing. One teaspoon of seawater contains over one million living organisms, and this project offers a glimpse into the lives of some of these tiny creatures. The video below takes you into this enchanting undersea world.
