Top Ten Looks from Spring Couture 2013

Top Ten Looks from Spring Couture 2013

If you’re anything like me, the fashion weeks of Paris, London, Milan and, of course, New York, are times when you slip off into a fantasy world of fashion perfection. And fashionistas everywhere know there is no greater fantasy than the haute couture presentations. Blessing us but twice a year, Paris’ Haute Couture shows are brief, but spectacular, glimpses into the unrestrained imaginations of the world’s top designers. Few fashion houses qualify for official haute couture classification by the chambre syndicale de la haute couture. The guidelines are extreme: clothing must be entirely handmade for private clients who’ve had at least one fitting; one atelier must be Paris-based and employ at least 20 full-time technicians; and a collection must be presented every six months with at least 25 full designs sent down the runway.

I’ve been living in this couture fantasy land for the last few days as the collections have been revealed. Revisiting and refreshing style.com and WWD like a stalker on their beloved’s Facebook page. Here I’ve put together my personal favorites from the Spring 2013 season.
